Banned from Adsense? Some suggestions and alternatives
This is in continuation to my previous article, published at http://ezinearticles.com/?Avoid-Getting-Banned-From-Adsense---Take-Adequate-Precautions-To-Avoid-This-From-Happening&id=402420 on what all can lead to banning from adsense and certain do’s and don’ts while having adsense pub-id. However, if unfortunately the banning still happened, then what are the alternatives to those banned and how to go about it?.
In this second part of the article, I have suggestions for those who have been banned from Google adsense, but I would also advise to go through first part of the article from link given above.
Suggestions for those who have been unduly blacklisted from Google.
First; is be sure that you did not do anything malafide for that if you actually did anything like this, chances are remote. In case you have a fairly string case, I would advise you to be patient and whole process for reinstating the account may take upto three weeks.
Second; I would suggest to be polite even if your account has been unjustly disabled. Aggressive or abusive languages rarely succeed. Being firm and being polite are two things that can co-exist.
Third; Gather evidence to support your claim. Quite often your internet service provider, fro technical reasons, give same ip to a cluster if surfers in a given locality and may be some one form your locality with same ip address has clicked the ad. Though this can happen, personally I feel this alone will not lead to Google cancelling your account and there has to be something more than this. Get whois data or data from godaddy to prove previous ownership of domain if the domain you have bought has been previously blacklisted.
What if you don’t succeed in convincing Big Brother Google?
Fortunately, Google treats all its services as adwords, adsense, indexing of site separately. So if a site gets adsense account disabled, it has absolutely no effect on its getting indexed on google.
If even after representation to Google, it has not worked, the only answer is “fait accompli”; that is accept and move on. There are many other advertising programs on the net that pay equally good or better. No doubt, as the things stand today, adsense is a wonderful product that has made many millionaires, since last three years, Google is losing gradually its market share to other advertising programs. Of course, most of these programs, with the exception of YPN, lack in terms of ad variety and therefore, are not able to serve you with relevant ads. Non relevant ads does lead to lower click thru rate.
Many people are known to try a few creative ways around the ban such as opening another account with different email, address, payee’s information etc, but again even if you get another account, you cant be sure as this is against the policies of the program.
I would strongly advise people not to buck the adsense as it's too much of a valuable area of ecommerce to be abused.
Alternatives to Adsense
Getting banned from Adsense is not end of the world. Other good options are SearchFeed's service, Kanoodle's BrightAds, Bidvertiser, Chitika or may other regional players that you can chose. Some of these local players pay on fixed impressions basis or duration basis, and this comes handy to you for assuring some minimum ad income for the period and sustenance of the site becomes easy.
Clicksor, also works on contextual advertising technology and shares upto 60% of the revenue which is higher than one shared by Google. Clicksor, provides better stats of site impressions and ad clicks, has better payment terms and depending upon your level of earning can pay in fifteen days and through Paypal.
Chitika is another good alternative, but I must add that it is good only for few types of sites. If your site deals in product selling or product comparison, it actually may be able to deliver better revenue than Google. Apart from ad clicks, it also offers revenue sharing on sale.
Adbrite is next option where you can sell your ad space to them
I must acknowledge that Google has the final say and you don’t have any option but to respect the decision. Rightly Google is the Judge, Jury and Prosecutor- all in one, but judging form my experience it is just.
Affiliate Marketing is another bright area and let me put on record; by the end of 2006, it is occupying 20% of the market budget. You can see many sites where Google ads pay second fiddle to Chitika or affiliate marketing ads.
