Since the launch of Google adsense in late nineties, it has fast become the preferred way for many webmasters to earn money online. I am indeed happy to note that many good sites are sustaining themselves only on adsense and are able to provide quality information to visitors which otherwise would have come at some price. Such is the potential of this stream of income that hundreds of sites have come up only to advise the web masters as to how to increase their income through proper planning of adsense. Following simple tweaks can help you earn more from your site through adsense. Proper implementing of the code has potential of doubling the click rate.
1. Matching the color Code: One of the effective methods to increase the ad click rate is to use the ad color palette exactly with the site back ground color. Better to avoid frames around the ads as they restrict seamless merging of ads with the content. Ad heading color should exactly match with the page heading. I am actually fan of many sites that have used this method so beautifully that quite often I get confused between text and the ad and I am sure laymen visitors must be even more confused.
2. Don’t use too many ad units as it creates sort of ad-blindness. Avoid leaderboard ads. People are generally blind to leaderboard image ads.
3. My favorite advise would be to research the keywords that pay better than others. Fpor example Cancer and mesothalmia, though mean the same, yet mesothalmia is searched more times than cancer and ads for this word pay more than ads appearing on Cancer Keyword. Better paying keywords would trigger better paying ads and hence better the revenue.

6. Make the page sufficiently ( sufficiently and not excessive) rich with relevant keywords. I would recommend keyword density of 11 percent as appropriate. I have come across many sites discussing Hollywood celebrities but where page shows up ads as far off related as Oracle-ads.
7. Try to design the page that ads are naturally submerged in the page and not standing out or separate from the content. Ads that stand out distract from the content.
8. Use Adsense referral button on some pages but I would suggest to avoid using this button at the home page itself.
9. Ensure that the rest of the page content, apart from the article, also focuses on the theme of your site. This would trigger better related keyword ads and inspire the visitors to click on them
10. My own experience has been that the ads at the bottom of the page attracts the lowest click through rate.
11. Make pages rich with content and not just for getting adsense ads.
