Contributing Articles for Increased Links and Traffic
One of the simplest thing about site optimization is to understand that higher the links on search engines; higher would be the traffic. I don’t think there is any need of any technical jargon to confuse readers with. If as a newbie webmaster, you are looking for traffic, besides content, all you need is large number of links.
How such Links Work?
Spiders from search engines have different frequency to visit for each site. If you content keeps changing regularly, the spiders would schedule their visit to index your site more frequently than a site which does not change the content as regularly. Obviously, the older and the content rich sites are visited far more frequently than your site, if it is new. Putting an article in such site with a link to your site would lead for faster indexing of the article and as such the link to your site would also get indexed as fast.
Now, given all things equal, the search results of such site are likely to rank higher than most sites. This would lead visitors to your articles who, if appreciate the content are likely to click the link to your site and rest is up to you. If you have meaningful content, they are more likely to turn into returning customers and thus your purpose stands achieved.
Writing informative articles and distributing the same over the internet is an easy way to links to your site. Increased links would give boost to your search engine rankings. As the number of articles with links to your site grow, more and more readers who find the articles useful will find and follow links to your site and homepage link of your site would appear on hundreds of other sites.
Some webmasters may see no reason to give away valuable content for nothing, especially when the content writing is a paid job. However, you can see it in a way that remuneration for content development is much less than the cost of a link from a reputed site that you would get once your article is published and indexed from the site.
If you see appreciate the reason, it may be worthwhile even to hire a ghost writer from some reputed sites. Articles can also be written after taking excerpts from a good content from your site and publishing abstracts on a good site. You can also post a unique content with a link to next part of the article on your site. This would give additional boost to the traffic to your site.
Another way to distribute the content is to include a reprint permission at the bottom of each article on your site, such as “Webmasters are free to reprint this article provided that it is not altered and the author's information is included, and the links are included as live links.”
Some reputed directories reject articles that include links to your site in the body text, but in any case include links to your site in the “Author info” section. This too is helpful.
