Google Video Ads are here- Is your site ready for it?
Finally Google has started serving video ads on member publisher sites. As on now, video ads are appearing only on select sites as probably not many advertisers are yet coming out with video ads. Video ads, as on now, appear along with text ads.
These Video Ads are best for advertisers that need to video demonstration of their products; something for which, hitherto, only medium was TV. Compared to Television, the cost to advertiser would be much lesser. However, these ads being bandwidth intensive; may not succeed initially in countries where broadband penetration is not yet complete.
For advertisers and publishers, these ads are similar to text ads so far as pricing pattern is concerned. Advertisers would pay on CPC basis. Whether a visitor may click on advertiser url or choose to play video ad, it would be counted as a click. Repeat playing of ad is permitted with in same click cost.
To play the video ad, user would need to click the play button and the video would start playing with in the ad space window. If the user likes to explore further, he may click the url below the ad to go to advertiser web site or simply continue browsing the visited site.
